The term pastoral derived from Latin means shepherd and aptly refers to the work and concern of the shepherd for his sheep. Pastoral certainly describes Fr. Kenneth Overbeck, a devout and dedicated priest recently assigned as the new Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish. Prior to joining Saint Joseph Parish in Medway, Fr. Ken served as pastor of Saint Bonaventure in Manomet for over 20 years, where he gained an enormous amount of administrative and pastoral experience.
Fr. Ken will celebrated his first weekend masses on Saturday, June 15th and Sunday, June 16th. Fr. Ken is encouraging families to join him in prayer for the strengthening and growth of our beloved parish. Please be sure to introduce yourself and assure him of your prayers and support for his new ministry here at Saint Joseph’s.
In his pastoral duties, Fr. Ken follows a Christ-like approach to the people whom he serves. We appreciate that Fr. Ken surely left an indelible mark in the minds and hearts of people from all walks of life to whom he has ministered especially during his years at Saint Bonaventure as a humble servant of God, a wonderful pastor and great missionary apostle. We look forward to Fr. Ken’s leadership in our parish community that builds on the foundations set by his predecessors, Fr. Linus Mendis and Msgr. Timothy Moran.
